Cape Town
-
Mother of all cities
Known by South Africans as their Mother City, Cape Town was recently named by British Airways as one of the world's top ten destinations - and it's easy to see why. Culturally rich and diverse with an abundance of historic and leisure attractions, this jewel of a city is among the most beautiful you will ever visit anywhere. Set between the sea and Table Mountain, its magnificent new stadium is now preparing to host the quarter finals and semi finals.

Who's the Daddy?
If Cape Town is the Mother City, then Jozi is the Daddy. Tough, fast and gritty, the City of Gold is Africa's financial and commercial powerhouse. As well as some of the finest restaurants and bars on the continent, this is where you will find many of the cultural and historic attractions that have became synonymous with the fight against apartheid. Joburg boasts two World Cup stadiums: Ellis Park and the mighty Soccer City, where the first and last matches will be played.
Johannesburg
Durban
-
Seaside attractions
Not only is Durban gateway to the Zulu kingdom and Africa's busiest port, but it also offers easy access to no less than two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the Greater Saint Lucia Wetland Park and the celebrated Drakensberg National Park. The city's sporting credentials are also impeccable: this is where the first South African football league kicked off in 1882. Now its newly-built Moses Mabhida Stadium is set to host one of the World Cup semi-finals.

Surf, turf, safaris
Located in the Eastern Cape, Nelson Mandela's home province, historic Port Elizabeth is home to some of South Africa's finest period architecture, most notably its Art Nouveau buildings. Now the centre of South Africa's motor industry, this thriving port is surrounded by immaculate beaches and stands within easy reach of premier game parks such as Addo and Kragga Kamma. Among other matches, its newly constructed Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium will host the third place play-off.
